HDJ Furniture is a bespoke joinery company based in Chertsey, Surrey, serving homeowners, architects, and designers across Surrey, London, and the South East.
We design, manufacture, spray finish, and install everything in-house — from luxury kitchens to fitted wardrobes, media walls, and whole-house joinery packages. Our workshop is where craftsmanship meets care: every cabinet, drawer, and panel is made with precision, tested, and finished to the highest standard.
HDJ Furniture was founded by Mike Hadaway with a simple goal: to build a company where great furniture and great people thrive together.
Mike’s journey began with a luxury joinery firm, where he worked his way from apprentice to CAD designer and CNC programmer. Along the way, he learned not only how to cut, build, and finish furniture, but also how to solve complex problems and refine designs for efficiency and quality.
One early project involved building a wine unit with glazed oak doors and a built-in air conditioning system — each section holding wine at different temperatures while remaining completely sealed. It was a technical challenge that reinforced the value of precision and problem-solving.
After a decade, Mike took the leap into self-employment. Starting in a shed, building wardrobes for local clients and delivering them in the back of his car, HDJ Furniture has since grown into a full workshop in Chertsey with a skilled team of craftsmen.
